Early Morning hours with the Sun still on his bed, the preset
alarm rang to remind me us to get out as it was a gals day out :)!! YES, it was
a D day for 4 gals to be out on the road on their own to get a sight of the
mountain of honey "Madhugiri" :)!
Making sure that we don’t make pals red faced again
we left our living places on time 6:30 a.m. ... ooops yes that was pretty early
in the morning :). As usual our planning gals had made a sketch for the day...We
had to meet at majestic & catch a direct transport to our honey mountain...
As we hit the roads....our brains started to think and realized
that there was another path that could be taken that could have been of a much
shorter distance...but we strictly stuck to our plans and made no last minute
changes :). Our wireless takies started sending messages across, back and fro
through the air and confirmed each other about the exact position we were in...
An early morning majestic Bus stand but still with people who can
move so close to rub your shoulders, we finally met almost on time: D. Ok now
we have to head towards " MADHUGIRI" but before that we forgot
something.........getting up so early in the morning, our tummy already needed
some fuel to move further... we even thought of packing something for lunch... But
first we thought we’ll concentrate on breakfast!
Vij and spu started walking towards the KSRTC bus
stand...as me and pals followed them asking “are we going for brkfast?"...
As we walked few more steps ahead we spotted the bus that we need to take to
"MADHU" which was actually a bus to "PAVAGADA” &
"MADHU" comes on the way.... ok again, what about brkfast.... Vij
said “BANANAS"...what BANANA!!!YES BANANA!!!.... Oks BANANA :(
With big BANANAs in our hands we got into the PAVAGADA bus. The
seats were all very very clean such that we had to select the seat with minimum
cleanliness else the maximum dust would get stuck to our dresses :)
As we sat inside the bus, conductor asked us to what was special
in MADHU and informed us that a gang of 10 people had just left to the Honey Mountain......
Immediately a smile captured our faces and we started to look @ each other with
sparkling eyes. We were happy that we were not going to be left alone at that
place...
The bus started moving and had multiple stops to let more and more
people to get inside. It stopped at places like Navarang, Jalahalli Cross...Etc.
If u were staying close to any of these places then you would have murmured
like Viju saying “It would have been easier If I could have jumped into the bus
from the nearby stop" :)
As the journey continues, you can feel
vibes just passing through your body. No worries, those are due to the humps,
potholes etc on the rasthe :)...
What is he doing...what is she doing... what happened to them...how
wz that…hwz this....: D our gossips continued and also lost its track after
sometime :)
As the clouds passed behind and the trees
running beside, one can view BIG and Huge rocks...rocks and only rocks all over
with traces of water on them...Gosh! they were magnanimous. The bus moved
further ahead and spu had a fun time playing with a kid sitting next to her.
She offered her foodies and then played with a her like a kid :) and then tired
and maintained her silence mode again: P
Bus Moved, moved and moved and you would be like where is it
actually destined to!
Juju inquired with a fellow passenger sitting
in front of us regarding the time it would take and the places it would
cross before we actually reach MADHU. He actually became our GPS :D
Almost after more than 2 and half hours from Bangalore, we were
about to reach the HONEY MOUTAIN...
After a long journey, your eyes would just search for 2
things. Yes you are right, a restaurant and a rest room :P :D. We first entered
into the restaurant and ordered for the safest foodie "IDLIES"... :)...
Each plate had 3 Idlies but juju could eat only 2.. rest of us managed to stuff
all the 3 inside :D..
Now done with all the essentials... we had to find out the hiding
place of MADHU :).. We were informed that it was just a few steps ahead of the
restaurant...
Remember, a mountain would not have any stalls or shops and you
need to pack something to give you energy on the way... Believe me, if your
daily routine is to sit at a place and work for hours then please do carry
juice bottles, snacks and minimum Tiffin as you would be really tired even by
the time you climb half the way. We decided to pack 2 plates of idlies, had a
big huge Tropicana, two big bottles of water and some snacks...
There you go, started walking
from the bus stop for few mins and you would find a court! Yes you heard me
right, there were courts where you could see lawyers, judges and actual
proceedings on way...Don’t worry, you need not walk further as the Mountain fort
was just few steps from the court....
As we reached the bottom of the
mountain, there was a small temple but unfortunately it was closed by the time
we reached. We offered prayers from outside and requested blessings for a safe
journey ahead :)
We turned away from the temple, and found a mantap with
detached pillars. Our eyes were so attached to it that we moved towards it to
take our first pic of the day :)... First, second, third... And as our photo
shoots continued we realized that we almost looked like aliens and all the eyes
around us were staring at us. We decided to move from the place and start our
mountain climbing journey...
As you start climbing, you are welcomed with huge gates wide open
and the steps to take you to heights :). We started to climb the steps and
moved further ahead. As we moved, I said “Spu stand next to SALMA", oh
wait wait.. salma wasn’t our friend but was a name written BIG and BOLD on a
huge rock :P
Up and up
as you go, you can see a scissors cut rock. The gap between the rocks just
looked like a triangular piece of cake cut from a vertically standing cake and almost
at the verge of falling down! We decided to enter inside the gap but wanted a
volunteer who could capture our pics... There we saw a middle aged man sitting
next to the cake on the steps as thought his whole life was dejected (DJ)....we
had no other option but to give our camera to the DJ. We handed the camera and
tried to enter into the scissor cut. Initially it looked like a cake walk but
once we started to crawl through the gap, we realized that it was very
slippery!. Pals just crawled in like a kid and was the first to enter inside…followed
by Spu and myself.. Viju found it very very difficult being the last to enter
and tried to crawl from all directions :D
Here we go Photos taken and the DJ turned to an RJ (rejuvenated
:D). Slowly we moved out and continued our journey of climbing....
We moved further and noticed a netted roof! Each of us saw each other’s
face and smiled and decided that this was not our last trip and hence we would
not take any risk which would in turn deny our further trip permissions. We
just had a look at it, commented about it and walked ahead :D
Our first Timer shot with spu's cam was taken and further ahead we found Kalyani, the water spot on Madhugiri..........
Journey
continues...........................
